Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators (formerly Praxis I) and Praxis II Information

All students applying for admission into any teacher certification program at the undergraduate level, including Post-Baccalaureate students, are required to take and meet the cut-off scores, as set by the College of Education, state of NJ and Related Professional Studies, on the Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators: Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST) in order to be admitted into a teacher certification program at Rowan University.

Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators (formerly Praxis 1) Due Dates
Fall – Must be taken and passed by April 1 to be admitted into September field experiences (i.e., Growth & Learning K-3/B-5, Practicum A, Teaching and Learning A, Curriculum & Assessment, and Junior Field)
Spring - Must be taken and passed by November 1 to be admitted into January field experiences (i.e., Growth & Learning K-3/B-5, Practicum A, Teaching and Learning A, Curriculum & Assessment, and Junior Field)

Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators (formerly Praxis I) is to be completed before your Junior Field Experience.

*Passing scores must be on file in the College of Education Advising Center by the close of EARLY REGISTRATION (April for Fall and November for Spring)

Make sure you enter Rowan's code -2515- so that Rowan receives your scores.

Passing Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators scores of the College of Education are as follows:
Reading - (Test Code 5712) Passing Score = 156
Writing - (Test Code 5722) Passing Score = 162
Mathematics - (Test Code 5732) Passing Score = 150

Praxis II Due Dates
It is the candidate’s responsibility to schedule and pass the appropriate PRAXIS II TEST within the required timeframe (semester prior to clinical practice). Without official passing PRAXIS II test scores the candidate will not be able to participate in Clinical Practice. See program advisor for specific requirements.
