The M.A. in Higher Education program has two tracks; one for higher education administration and one for a selected number of teaching specializations.

Administrative Track

The administrative track is designed to serve both those without any experience in higher education administration who aspire to careers in that field as well as those who are already practicing administrators in a college or university who wish to upgrade their skills.

This is a 36 credit program and includes a common core (15 credits) of courses as well as a culminating seminar/internship sequence (6 credits) in which all students are required to enroll. The remaining 15 credits may be selected from a multidisciplinary bank of courses offered by departments within the colleges of Education, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Business and with the advice and counsel of the program advisor. All students are expected to work closely with the program advisor in determining course selection and the appropriate sequence for course enrollments. All students are also required to complete a major research project as part of their culminating sequence of courses.
