Incentives 2014–2015 Language Literacy and Special Education Department

 

1- Graduate Incentive Learning Disability Teacher Consultatnt ($1,000)
Purpose of Incentive: To award an incentive to an academically deserving graduate student who has provided significant service to students who are physically challenged or with learning disabilities. Recipient must be a teacher candidate in the Learning Disability Teacher Consultant Graduate Program


2- Graduate Reading Incentive ($1,000)

Purpose of Incentive: To award an incentive to an academically deserving graduate student who has provided significant service to students in the area of reading. Recipient must be a teacher candidate in the Reading Graduate Program.

Graduate Incentive Special Education [MA in Special Education]($1,000)
Purpose of Incentive: To award an incentive to an academically deserving graduate student who has provided significant service to students who are physically challenged or with learning disabilities. Recipient must be a teacher candidate in the Special Education Graduate Program

4- Graduate Incentive Special Education [Graduate Endorsement Program for Special Education]($1,000)
Purpose of Incentive: To award an incentive to an academically deserving graduate student who has provided significant service to students who are physically challenged or with learning disabilities. Recipient must be a teacher candidate in the Special Education Graduate Program

5- Post Baccalaureate Endorsement Incentive: Teacher of Students with Disabilities ($1,000)
Purpose of Incentive: To award a scholarship to an academically deserving graduate student who has provided significant service to students who are physically challenged or with learning disabilities. Recipient must be a teacher candidate in the Post Baccalaureate Endorsement Teacher of Students with Disabilities Program

6- 2014-2015 Cecil F. Miller Special Education Award Special Education Perpetual Medallion Award
Dr. Cecil F. Miller served as a member of the Department of Special Education (Language, Literacy, and Special Education) from 1972 – 1979. This Medallion is donated in his memory by the Department of Language, Literacy and Special Education to a student who exemplifies leadership in the area of special education.

7- 2013-2014 Medallion Selection Form: Evelyn Slobodzian Excellence in Reading Award

8- 2013-2014 Susan Lytle Teacher Research Award

9- 2014-2015 Frances James Scholarship, $1,000 (Established by Dr. and Ms. Henry James)
Purpose of Scholarship: To award a scholarship to an academically deserving studetn who has provided ssignificant service to students who are physically challenged or with learning disabilities.

10- 2014-2015 Willie Kate Baldwin Scholarship, $500

11- 2014-2015 Irving Shipkin and Joseph Scardilli Scholarship, $750

12-2014-2015 Edna H. Garrison Scholarship, $400
