Program Description
This program brings together courses from the Reading Department in the College of Education. It offers a strong pedagogical and theoretical core from the reading discipline, which will enable teachers to pursue an advanced degree. Many teachers who earned certification as undergraduates in the past have expressed a need for advanced education. In addition, this certificate will also respond to and align with the conceptual framework of the College of Education.
Admissions Requirements
Students eligible for this program must have an earned Bachelor’s Degree and hold a standard New Jersey certificate for teaching.

Summary of the Curriculum
The program consists of five graduate courses totaling 15 semester hours. All of the courses are currently being offered. All courses carry over to the M.A. in Reading.
