College of Education - Post-Baccalaureate Endorsement: Teacher of Students with Disabilities
Admissions Requirements
- Successful completion of at least one semester at Rowan University, with a minimum 2.75 grade point average.
- Matriculation in one of the College of Education's Teacher Education Programs (i.e., preschool/early childhood, elementary, subject matter education, health/physical education).
- Two letters of recommendation from individuals (not friends/relatives) who can attest to your ability to work with children/young adults.
- Completion of application form.
- Interview with Program Advisor and/or Program Coordinator
- A four (4) year degree from an accredited college or university
- Possess, or be eligible for, a standard or provisional New Jersey instructional certificate in an initial endorsement area (i.e., preschool/early childhood, elementary, subject matter education, health/physical education).
- Minimum of 2.75 grade point average on a 4 point scale*.
- Transcript evaluation of prerequisite courses in academic and education areas.
- Two (2) letters of recommendation from individuals (not friends/relatives) who can attest to your ability to work with children/youth and/or adults.
- Resumè.
- Successful completion of Praxis II in subject specialization area(s).
- Interview with Program Advisor and/or Program Coordinator
Procedures
- Completion of application for Post-Baccalaureate Endorsement Program: Teacher of Students with Disabilities. An official transcript, letters of recommendation, Praxis II score report, and resumè are to be submitted with application.
- The completed application is returned to the Graduate School. It will be forwarded to the Special Educational Services / Instruction Department for review.
- Upon receipt, an appointment will be scheduled to meet with the Program Advisor and/or Program Coordinator to review the completed application and to discuss program requirements.
