Professional Development Opportunities
Notice To: Cooperating Teachers – Fall 2008
The Office of Field Experiences will provide six Cooperating Teacher Clinics for teachers who are currently assigned a Teacher Candidate or planning to work with a Candidate in the future. You will receive a certificate for professional development hours at the session.
The orientation will cover the following topics:
- Framework of Rowan Teacher Education Program
- Teacher Candidate Performance Standards
- Objectives of Clinical Practice
- Cooperating teacher’s responsibilities begin and end?
- Preparing for a Teacher Candidate
- Cooperating Teacher as Observer and Mentor
- Conferencing and Feedback Guidelines
- Candidate Performance Assessment – Review of Assessment Materials
- Cooperative Reflection
- Q & A
