About NJ’s Clean Energy Program
On March 1, 2001 the state Board of Public Utilities approved an innovative plan for a new era. The State of New Jersey has prepared both an array of consistent yet statewide energy efficiency programs and shared strategies for promoting compact, clean and renewable sources of energy. For example, statewide programs such as fuel cells, solar electric systems and wind generators are being implemented. All New Jersey customers – residential, commercial and industrial – have the same opportunities to increase comfort and save energy.
Installation of energy efficient equipment, adoption of energy-saving practices and renewable energy generation provide substantial environmental and public health benefits while helping preserve our natural resources. Together they reduce the need to add conventional power plants while improving overall system reliability.
