Useful Information
A key goal of the NJ Wind and Energy Efficiency Information & Technical Support Program is to help educate consumers as well as generate public interest about the benefits of renewable energy and energy efficiency. By educating consumers and generating public interest, this builds viable markets for clean energy technologies. It was determined that large investments in energy efficiency and on-site generation will not be undertaken until a high level of confidence in the success of the new technology is held by the individual decision maker.
Recent experience in the New Jersey Clean Energy program indicates there are two important needs. The first need is to increase installation of wind energy systems to reach target goals for adoption and the second need is that many customers need to have energy audits performed in order to install more energy efficient equipment. This data suggests that significant roadblocks exist in adoption of these important technologies (energy efficient equipment and wind energy systems). Early data collected from consumer interviews conducted by Rowan University professors indicates that these consumers will not make large economic investments in new technologies unless they are very confident of their success.
This website is geared towards assisting consumers in all aspects. Through the NJCEP Wind & Energy Efficiency Outreach & Education program, free energy audits can be provided and the Anemometer Loan Program can continue to provide consumers a free wind assessment of their property.
