Recent experiences in the New Jersey Clean Energy program indicate that many customers need to have energy audits performed in order to install more energy efficient equipment. Early data collected from consumer interviews conducted by Rowan University professors indicates that consumers will not make large economic investments in new technologies unless they are very confident of their success.
Customers who wish to increase their energy efficiency through both small and large investments can sign up for the potential customer list in order to have one of these energy efficiency audits conducted for them. The final results of these audits will leave the customer with a thorough knowledge of where their energy is being spent, some recommendations as to what could be done in order to improve the efficiency, the initial costs of these recommendations and the payback period for these recommendations.
