Third NJWWG meeting scheduled for Friday, May 11, 2007
Location:  NJ Board of Public Utilities, Board Hearing Room
Time:  9am - 4pm

Welcome to the New Jersey Wind Working Group website. Our kickoff meeting was held at Rowan University on October 6th. Our purpose is to inform the public on the benefits and knowledge required to utilize wind energy.

A key goal of the NJ Wind and Energy Efficiency Information & Technical Support is to help educate consumers and generate public interest about the benefits of renewable energy and energy efficiency and build viable markets for clean energy technologies. It was found that large investments in energy efficiency and on-site generation will not be undertaken until a high level of comfort in the success of the new technology has been achieved by the individual decision maker.

Recent experience in the New Jersey Clean Energy program indicates there are two important needs: increased installation of wind energy systems to reach target goals for adoption, and many customers need to have energy audits performed in order to install more energy efficient equipment at higher rates than they are at present. This data suggests that significant roadblocks exist to adoption of these important technologies (energy efficient equipment and wind energy systems). Early data collected from consumer interviews conducted by Rowan University professors indicates that consumers will not make large economic investments in new technologies unless they are very confident of their success.

This website, along with the Technical Support hotline, will look to assist consumers in all aspects. Though the NJCEP Wind & Energy Efficiency Outreach & Education program, free energy audits can be provided and Anemometer Loan Program can continue to provide consumers a free wind assessment of their property. Most commonly asked questions on wind and energy efficiency can be found in our Commonly Asked Questions section. More specific questions can be sent by email to cleanenergy@rowan.edu or submitted though our feedback. Assistance can also be provided though our hotline at 856-256-5371.
