What is Engineers on Wheels?

Engineers on Wheels is a program bringing engineering concepts into K-12 classrooms and providing extracurricular activities to students, as well as providing an opportunity for college- level engineering students to reinforce their own knowledge of engineering and share their excitement about the subject with the next generation of engineers. The Colleges of Engineering, Education and Continuing & Professional Education are collaborating in the program supported by Edison Venture Fund. Through Engineers on Wheels, students and educators from the colleges will visit K-12 schools to demonstrate engineering activities in specially outfitted vans with modern engineering displays. The mobile high-tech classroom in the van has a touch-screen computer to help teach topics like bridge building, roller coaster design, flight simulation, alternative energy and astronomy.

Engineers are people who have a passion for making the world a better place!
Engineering is the application of science to designing things: the application of science in the design, planning, construction, and maintenance of buildings, machines, and other manufactured things.
