Freshman Engineering Clinic

The two-semester Freshman Clinic sequence introduces basic engineering skills through project-based learning in an exciting, hands-on environment.  The focus of the first semester projects is engineering measurements, and the second semester focuses on the reverse engineering of a product or process.    Previous hands-on, multidisciplinary projects have involved products and processes such as automatic coffee makers, fluidized bed coating, the brewing process, and the engineering systems within the human body.

The Freshman Engineering Clinic introduces students to:

• Instrumentation and data acquisition
• Analysis of data
• Technical communication skills in graphical, written, and oral formats

• The practice and profession of engineering
