Rowan ECE Graduate Program
The ECE department at Rowan University offers a graduate program leading to an MS in Engineering (Specialization in Electrical Engineering) degree. The program of study (30-credits) is available with the following options:
Thesis Option*:
• 1-Approved Graduate Business Course: 3-Cr
• 1-Approved Graduate CS Course: 3-Cr
• 1-Approved Graduate Math Course: 3-Cr
• 4-Approved ECE Graduate Electives: 12-Cr
• MTS Thesis Research: 9-Cr
TOTAL: 30-Cr
*ECE graduate students who have been selected to receive graduate research assistantship stipends are required to elect the Thesis Option for their MS program.
Project Option:
• 1-Approved Graduate Business Course: 3-Cr
• 1-Approved Graduate CS Course: 3-Cr
• 1-Approved Graduate Math Course: 3-Cr
• 5-Approved ECE Graduate Electives: 15-Cr
• MTS Thesis Research:6-Cr
TOTAL: 30-Cr
Course-only Option:
• 1-Approved Graduate Business Course: 3-Cr
• 1-Approved Graduate CS Course: 3-Cr
• 1-Approved Graduate Math Course: 3-Cr
• 7-Approved ECE Graduate Electives: 21-Cr

MS Thesis Requirements
Please visit the Graduate College webpage for information on thesis format requirements. A typical MS thesis will have the following contents:
• Cover Page (link)
• Table of Contents
• Abstract
• Acknowledgements
• Introduction (Motivation, Objectives and Scope)
• Background ((Literature Survey)
• Approach
• Results and Implementation
• Conclusions (including Recommendations for Future Work)
• References (in IEEE format)
•Thesis Defense and Submission Process
• Provide draft of thesis to graduate committee 2-weeks ahead of schedule thesis defense
• Present oral defense of thesis
• Revise thesis with corrections suggested by committee members
• Print 1-copy of thesis on Thesis Paper
• Obtain signatures on Cover Page
• Submit thesis to Graduate School
• Receive approval from graduate school for thesis submission
• Print 3-addtional copies of approved of thesis on Thesis Paper
• Obtain signatures on Cover Page
• Give to the ECE department secretary for binding (You will receive 1-bound copy, 1- will be placed in the ECE library and the other will be provided to your major professor)
