Lab Policies
- Please understand that access to the Westby Computer Art labs, computers, and equipment is a privilege. Lab access can be with held if policies are violated.
- Music is ok; however, loud or disruptive music, is not. Please bring headphones.
- Please, NO food or drinks in the labs.
- WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE for lost or “stolen” items, USB drives, external hard drives, cell phones, files, disks, data, persons, dogs, plants, papers, or any other items you might have left in the labs.
- PLEASE DON’T LEAVE ANYTHING IN THE LABS at anytime or place. If you leave something in the Labs it will either get thrown away or put on the lost and found area in room 219.
- Please DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES change or attempt to change any settings or configurations in the computers or monitors. DO NOT move, disconnect, or “adjust”, any equipment. If you have a request or a need, please contact a friendly Lab Assistant.
- PLEASE DO NOT use your own paper or anyone else’s paper in any of the printers. If the wrong paper is used it WILL damage the printer. Please use only LAB SUPPLIED paper in our machines. Violation of this rule could result in you being branded with the (Scarlet Letter reference) IBCL! (I BROKE THE LASER PRINTER!)
- PLEASE DO NOT fee the wildlife.
- Please DO Feed our Lab Assistants (except for Mike because he’s already to fat).
- Please NO overnight work session. Sorry, but safety is an issue.
- Don’t use lab computers as file storage. Lab computers are not intended to store student files for any period of time. When a computer needs repair or updates, the hard drive may be erased and we will not be responsible for lost data. Utilize your network hard drives (your H: drive), USB flash, or external hard drives to store your files.
- All University equipment, including lab computers and peripherals, are for classroom and University related projects only. Freelance or commercial work is not allowed.
- BE RESPONSIBLE – PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF!!!!
- ABSOLUTELY RESPECT OTHERS!!
- Digital cameras are available to Art students or if you are currently enrolled in an Art department course. It is your responsibility to delete all images before you return the camera. Please be careful with your images! If cameras are not returned by due date, you may lose borrowing privileges. If a camera is not returned a hold will be place on the student’s Rowan account.
- All color printing must use the Print Lab work flow. Please read the directions for job submission to the Print Lab.
- The last two weeks of class, open Lab hours will change. Don’t count on the Labs being open after 3:30 pm on weekdays, or at all on weekends.
FOR OUR PROTECTION — Be aware of the Lab surroundings. Report any suspicious people to Public Safety.
