Born and raised in New Jersey, Miaika graduated from the Glassboro public school system. She received an Associate of Applied Science Degree from Gloucester County College in 1994, where she majored in Office Systems Technology (legal) and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Delaware State University in 1997 where she majored in Business Administration. Miaika joined the Rowan University Office of the Registrar in 2006 and the College of Fine and Performing Arts in 2007. She is a member of the Mt. Moriah P.B. Church in Glassboro, NJ where she serves as a founding member of the Sisters in Praise dance ministry team. She is also a founding member of the social organization, Women On The Rise, where she serves as the group's secretary. During her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, writing poems, and travelling.
