David Sullivan is Chairperson and Associate Professor in the Department of Theatre & Dance at Rowan University. David holds in MFA in Directing from Boston University, in residence at the Huntington Theatre Company. As a professional director, he directed the Off Broadway premieres of The Atheist (Center Stage NY), Swansong (Irish Repertory Theatre), and The Blowin of Baile Gall (Irish Arts Center). Other New York credits include A Celebration Friel (Irish Arts Center), Evangeline Elsewhere (Origin Theatre Company), The Lepers of Baile Baiste (Phil Bosakowski Theatre), The Stage is Bare (Directors' Theatre/New York); and readings of The Pimp and Cancer Time (Origin Theatre Company). At the Huntington Theatre Company, David directed readings of The Atheist, Smiler Becoming Yank, Alexandros, and Sunrise for the Breaking Ground New Play Festival. David also spent two seasons as a member of the Directing Corps at the Williamstown Theater Festival where his directing credits include A Moon for the Misbegotten, Unveiling, Catastrophe, and The Marriage of Bette and Boo. Regionally, he has also directed at the Gloucester Stage Company, the Powerhouse Theatre/New York Stage and Film, the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, Boston Playwrights Theatre, the Boston Theatre Marathon, and Boston Theatre Works Unbound Festival. Internationally, David has acted and directed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and in Ortonovo, Italy.
