Paule Turner

Paule Turner is a highly respected and active member of the Philadelphia dance community and leads his own ensemble, Paule Turner COURT. He earned his M.F.A. degree from Temple University. As a company member of two well-respected Philadelphia-based dance companies-Group Motion and Melanie Stewart Dance Theatre-he has performed internationally. Turner has presented work nationally and internationally. As an invited guest artist at Virginia Commonwealth University, Temple University, and Gettysburg College, he has taught workshops on new experimental dance and theater techniques. In 2001, Turner was honored by Dance Magazine as one of "25 to Watch." Most recently, he was awarded the "Black History in the Making-Dancing on the Edge Award" from Virginia Commonwealth University. As an assistant professor in the dance program at Rowan University, he serves as a link to the professional dance community of Philadelphia for students who wish to enhance their dance/theatre studies with professional examples.
