- Master of Business Administration (MBA) - G501
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at Rowan University provides contemporary graduate business education to professionals from diverse fields and academic backgrounds. The program prepares students as team leaders and team players with effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication and group process skills. The MBA curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, quantitative analysis and computing applications, and the technological and international nature of business.
- MA in Public Relations - G895
The M.A. in Public Relations will equip students to serve as a director of communications and public relations for corporations, businesses, industries, schools, colleges, and non-profit organizations. In addition, this degree could enable the graduate to work in public relations and advertising firms or to become executive directors for non-profit organizations.
- MA in Writing - G608
The M.A. in Writing program prepares students for teaching writing at a post-secondary level, for career advancement in journalism, for professional enrichment through creative writing or for careers in corporate communication. Some graduate students may use this degree in preparation for earning a doctorate in English, composition studies, creative writing, or communication and journalism.
- MA in Higher Education - G807
This program has two tracks: (1) administration and (2) instruction. The administration track is intended to serve individuals employed in a higher education setting who wish to increase their knowledge and skills of higher education administration and seek an entry level position in a two year or four year college or university. Four academic teaching specializations are offered: Computer Science, ESL, Mathematics, and Reading. Limited opportunities also exist in the biological and physical sciences.
- MA in School Psychology - G822
This program includes two sections: The first section builds a substantial background and depth in the theories, major knowledge, and methodological procedures of the discipline of psychology. The subsequent professional program prepares school psychologists at the Educational Specialist degree level and is concerned with psychological,
professional, and related educational courses to develop awareness and skill in interventions, consultations and assessments for school children.
- MA in Counseling in Educational Settings - G825
For individuals who aspire to careers in K-12 schools, this program leads to a Master of Arts degree in Counseling in Educational Settings, as well as the New Jersey Certification in School Counseling. A second track in Student Affairs in Higher Education is provided for individuals who are interested in careers at the college and/or
university level. Students who enroll in this track take coursework and a Practicum/Internship chosen to reflect career objectives within Student Affairs which could include positions in college counseling centers, career centers, admissions, registrar, student life, resident life and dean of students offices.
- Master of Science in Teaching (MST) - G800, G802, G819 or G008
This program is designed to prepare individuals, with the appropriate undergraduate program, as certified elementary (G800), secondary education teachers (G802). Students whose undergraduate degree is in a professional or technical area may need to take as many as 30 additional undergraduate credits to meet certification requirements before being accepted into the program.
- Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership (Ed.D) - G928
The program is designed to prepare educational leaders in a variety of educational settings. There are two tracks, one which prepares leaders in the primary through secondary grades (pre-kindergarten to 12th grade) and one which provides preparation for leaders in colleges and universities, professional organizations and other educational
settings.
** This listing does not include programs within the College of Education that require NJ State Teacher Certification because international graduate students are not eligible to be New Jersey teacher certified.
- MS in Engineering (MSE) - G901
The Master of Science in Engineering program is designed to respond to the changing needs of today’s engineers. This degree program can be tailored to provide students with an opportunity to enhance the breadth of their education or to specialize in a technical area. Students may specialize in the following areas of study: Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical or Engineering Management.

- MA in Mathematics - G701
The Master or Arts in Mathematics program will provide an opportunity for individuals to pursue advanced study in mathematics and to develop skills that can lead to success in today’s technologically oriented society. Whether the goal involves applying mathematics to solve problems in business and industry, in the high school or college
classroom or preparing for further graduate study in mathematics or related fields, this program enables each student to pursue a course of study that is appropriate for his or her interests.
- MA in Criminal Justice - G105
The MA in Criminal Justice program provides a new approach to the Law and Justice field. It focuses on the growing emphasis on research evidence in the law justice system. In this changing field, successful professionals will learn how to use research to evaluate the effectiveness of programs aimed at preventing and controlling crime.
College of Fine & Performing Arts
- Master of Music (MM) - G005
The Master of Music program provides for intensive development of performance skills, broad knowledge of the literature in the area of specialization and greater understanding of the musical profession. Graduates of the program may continue their performance studies on the doctoral level or find employment as performers or independent teachers.
