A Step-By-Step Guide To Taking Classes As A Matriculated
Or Pre-Matriculated Graduate Student

Below you will find our step-by-step guide to registering for classes as a fully matriculated or pre-matriculated student. These instructions are only for those students who are either currently enrolled in a graduate program at Rowan University (matriculated) or those students who have a graduate application that is currently in process, but not yet complete and accepted (pre-matriculated).

How to use this guide: For each screen shot, click on the thumbnail image and it will enlarge. Simply click on it again to reduce it back to a thumbnail.

All items marked with an asterisk (*) are required.

  • Click on "Access Banner Services”.

  • Click on "Student & Financial Aid" from the list provided.

  • Click on "Registration" from the list provided.

Step 6

  • Click on "Add or Drop Classes" from the list provided.

Step 7

  • Select the term (semester) you are registering for in from the drop-down menu.
  • Click "Submit"

Step 8

  • Enter each five-digit Class Reference Number (CRN) in the fields at the bottom of the screen (one CRN per field).
  • Click "Submit Changes" to register for and add the course(es) to your term (semester) schedule.

Step 9

  • Your current schedule appears on the screen. Classes that were accepted will be listed first and classes that are closed or that you are not eligible to register for will be displayed second.
  • You may add more courses using the blank CRN fields below.
  • If you need to drop (remove) a class from your schedule, click on the "Action" drop-down menu, select "Drop", and click "Submit Changes".

Step 10

  • When you are finished, be sure to click "Exit" at the top right of any screen if you are using a public computer. This will prevent others from accessing your personal information.

If you are prevented from registering, please check to see if there are “Hold Flags” or “holds” on your account screen and why they are there. Only the department or office which has placed the flag on your record, can remove it. For example, if you have not turned in required health forms, you will need to contact the Student Health Center.

If you continue to be prevented from accessing registration services, you may call the Office of the Registrar 856-256-4350 from 8:30am and 4pm on any of your scheduled registration days.
