A Step-By-Step Guide To Registering For Classes
As A Non-Matriculated Graduate Student

Wait! Are you thinking about applying to one of Rowan University's graduate programs, either now or in the future, but want to take classes NOW? If so, click on the Apply Now button on the left, start the graduate application, and begin registering for graduate courses as a pre-matriculated student. |
Below you will find our step-by-step guide to registering for classes as a non-matriculated student. These instructions are only for those students who are interested in taking graduate courses (up to 9 credits are permitted) without officially applying to Rowan University and enrolling in a degree-seeking graduate program (non-matriculated).
How to use this guide: For each screen shot, click on the thumbnail image and it will enlarge. Simply click on it again to reduce it back to a thumbnail.
All items marked with an asterisk (*) are required.
Step 1
- Click here to visit Rowan University's online application/class registration portal (opens in a new window, allowing you to keep these instructions at hand during the entire process).

Step 2
- Enter a Login ID of your choosing.
- Enter a PIN (password) of your choosing.
- Enter your PIN twice to verify it.
- Click "Login" to begin creating your account.
- Note: If you were previously a student at Rowan University or have registered for a class before as a non-matriculated student and already have a Banner ID, click here and follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 3
- Select "Graduate Take-a-Course" from the Application Type drop-down menu.
- Click "Continue".

Step 4
- Select the term (semester) in which you want to take classes from the drop-down menu "Admission Term".
- Enter your First Name.
- Enter your Middle Name.
- Enter your Last Name.
- Click "Fill Out Application"

Step 5
- Mouse over, click on, and complete each of the five checklist items, beginning with "Name"
- Click "Continue" at the bottom of each screen to move on to the next item.

- Checklist Item: Permanent Address

- Checklist Item: Cell Phone Number

- Checklist Item: Personal Information

- When all of the checklist items are complete, a check mark will appear next to each one.
- Click "Application is Complete".

Step 12
- View and print the Acknowledgement Page for your records. It will display your Rowan (Banner) ID, your PIN, and contact information for The Graduate School should you have any questions or problems.
- Click on "Access Web for Student" to continue.

- Click on "Registration" from the list provided.

- Click on "Add or Drop Classes" from the list provided.

Step 15
- Select the term (semester) you are registering for in from the drop-down menu.
- Click "Submit"

Step 16
- Enter each five-digit Class Reference Number (CRN) in the fields at the bottom of the screen (one CRN per field).
- Click "Submit Changes" to register for and add the course(es) to your term (semester) schedule.

Step 17
- Your current schedule appears on the screen. Classes that were accepted will be listed first and classes that are closed or that you are not eligible to register for will be displayed second.
- You may add more courses (not exceeding 9 credits as a non-matriculated student) using the blank CRN fields below.
- If you need to drop (remove) a class from your schedule, click on the "Action" drop-down menu, select "Drop", and click "Submit Changes".

Step 18
- When you are finished, be sure to click "Exit" at the top right of any screen if you are using a public computer. This will prevent others from accessing your personal information.
