B.S. Biochemistry

The B.S. Degree in Biochemistry is designed to prepare students for a career in biochemistry, medical, dental or other related health programs. The program combines the value of a liberal education with appropriate classroom and laboratory training in chemistry, biology, math and physics. The focus is on a molecular approach to studying living systems. The biochemistry major can choose to specialize in related areas of chemistry, molecular biology, genetics or structural biology by a careful selection of elective courses. The emphasis in all courses is on the acquisition of a solid knowledge base combined with hands-on laboratory work using modern equipment.
