Liberal Studies: Math/Science Program at Rowan University

The major in Liberal Studies with a Math/Science specialization focuses on mathematics, computer science, the biological sciences, chemistry, and physics—not as isolated disciplines, but as connected areas of study that share certain knowledge and methods. Students take laboratory courses, computer and math literacy courses, and beginning and intermediate-level courses in all of these areas. At the upper level, they take inter-disciplinary courses designed especially for the Math/Science major. They develop an in-depth understanding of the scientific enterprise, the uses of technology, scientific ways of knowing, and quantitative methods.
