Alpha Kappa Delta Sociology Honor Society (Sociology)
Alpha Kappa Delta (AKD) is open to students who have achieved a certain grade point average in sociology. There is a $40 fee to activate the student's membership, which includes a one-year subscription to the organization's journal. Interested students should contact the AKD advisor for details.

American Chemical Society (Chemistry)
A group of chemistry and biochemistry majors hold bi-weekly meetings, attend monthly American Chemical Society dinners at Adelphia's to hear industry updates, and meet to discuss job opportunities and career decisions. The groups Bi-Annual Service Project is cleaning a section of Main St. in Glassboro. Bowling trips are also planned for the organization.

Association for Computing Machinery (Computer Science)
Club members belong to a nationwide collective of computer science majors who wish to extend their field of expertise beyond the classroom. Annual activities include seminars from software/hardware companies and experts on selected computer topics, programming contests, chess tournaments, web design and programming, large multiplayer LAN game parties, and pizza parties. Members enjoy special national membership discounts and info via ACM National. ACM Rowan.

Biology Club (Biological Sciences)
The Biology Club organizes a number of different educational and social events every year.  The Club is also engaged in numerous activities which include research-oriented field trips to the Department's Environmental Field Station in Cape May.  Other field trips have included the Mutter Medical Museum in Philadelphia and Baltimore's Inner Harbor.

Epsilon Nu - The Law & Justice Honor Society (Law and Justice)
Epsilon Nu is the local chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma, the National Criminal Justice Honor Society. The society recognizes academic excellence of undergraduate, graduate students of criminal justice, as well as juris doctorate. All Law & Justice Studies majors or minors with a 3.2 GPA both overall and in Law & Justice Studies courses are welcome. (Must have completed three semesters, must also have completed a minimum of 4 courses within the field, and transfer students must have completed 2 semesters at Rowan)

Gamma Chi Sigma - The Criminal Justice Club (Law and Justice)
Gamma Chi Sigma is a student run organization open to all Law and Justice Studies majors and minors. It is the local chapter of Lambda Alpha Epsilon, the American Criminal Justice Association. It meets every Wednesday at 11 AM in Wilson 215. The purpose of our organization is to further professionalism in all areas of criminal justice, whether as professionals or students. Additionally, involvement in Gamma Chi is a great way to meet other like-minded law and justice majors, network and learn about classes or professors. As a student run organization Gamma Chi Sigma is what we make it, and currrently we need interested law and justice students in good standing with a min. 2.0 overall GPA who want to make a substantial and positive contribution.

Phi Alpha Theta (History)
Phi Alpha Theta's focus is toward the needs and interests of Rowan's History students. Our most well known events include our many discussion panels, which are assisted with help from our own faculty and students. The upcoming fall panel "Considering Graduate School?" will be especially helpful to those students who are interested in pursuing graduate studies in History. This panel allows students to meet with department professors to learn about applying for grad school, obtaining financial aid, fulfilling academic requirements, as well as offering other great advice for students thinking about grad studies. This fall we also are looking forward to the Internship Panel. All History students (majors, minors, and coordinates) with a 3.1 in their History courses and a 3.0 overall GPA (and 12 s.h. of history courses completed) are eligible to be officially initiated into Phi Alpha Theta. Phi Beta Delta (International Center)
Recognizes scholarly achievement of students who have studied abroad or who pursue course work with an international focus. The society serves as a network for faculty, staff, and students involved in international issues. Applications are accepted from faculty (who are active in research or teaching related to international studies) and staff (who are active in planning programs related to international studies), and from students with a GPA of 3.1 who have completed a Study Abroad Program, pursued a foreign language major or minor, are enrolled in the International Studies or Asian Studies Concentrations, or are international students who have been at Rowan for at least a year. Physics Club (Physics)
This diverse group of students is active in learning about physics by going on trips, attending seminars, doing research and going to conference. The group is also active in outreach to middle schools and high schools, offers free tutoring to non-majors, and collecting donations for worthy causes. This club has received numerous awards from the National Office of Society of Physics Students, including 7 consecutive Outstanding Chapter Awards and three Sigma Pi Sigma Undergraduate Research Awards, in addition to hosting two regional meeting in the past few years.

Pi Sigma Alpha (Political Science)
This honor society is included within the Political Science Club and is updated by national newsletter reviews at the conclusion of PSC meetings. The Political Science Club and Pi Sigma Alpha, the Political Science Honor Society, meet regularly during the academic school year. Requirements for Pi Sigma Alpha are a 3.0 GPA in at least 12 hours of political science courses, plus a 3.0 overall GPA. Reorganized in 2003, membership had doubled within the first year. The Political Science Club and Pi Sigma Alpha, the Political Science Honor Society, meet regularly during the academic school year. Past activities included a guest visit by a Mercer County major, an absentee ballot and voter registration drive, and a winter coat drive for the needy. Also, semester newsletters and yearly journals are created to display student accomplishments. Political Science Club is open to all Rowan students.

Pre-Law Society is an organization open to any student from any major interested in going to law school. Activities include guest speakers such as lawyers in different practice areas, admissions counselors from various law schools, and Rowan alumni currently enrolled in law school, law-related vidoes and movies, and an annual Law School Fair each fall, in which law school representatives come to Rowan to disseminate information about their institutions and recruit our students for their programs.

STEM Symposium (Biological Sciences)
Not a separate club per se, but a group of students under the umbrella of the Biology Club and other student groups. These students help run the University's Annual Rowan Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Student Research Symposium held each April. Each year two student coordinators plus numerous helpers are required for the success of the Symposium. Generally the student coordinators come from the Biological Sciences Department, but this is not a strict requirement. Student clubs that provide substantial help for the Symposium may count these efforts as a service project. STEM online.

Upsilon Pi Epsilon (Computer Science)
Association founded in 1967 at Texas A&M University for students and faculty who exhibit superior scholastic and professional achievement in the computing science curriculum. It remains the only national honor society for the computing sciences and is recognized as such by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and IEEE Computer Society. In 1997 Upsilon Pi Epsilon was admitted as a member of the Association of College Honor Societies - parent organization for all academic honor societies in North America.
