The Rowan University New Jersey
Campus Diversity Grant funded by the Bildner Foundation
Purpose:
To develop and offer new interdisciplinary, team-taught courses that address
issues of diversity and democracy for entering students as part of the
Rowan Seminar program.
Program:

Fund faculty teams to attend a workshop
to develop the new courses

Fund departments to make it possible
for faculty to offer the new team-taught courses in the fall semester of
freshmen year.
Workshops:

Five-days
-
mornings devoted to group discussions
with faculty and facilitators
-
afternoon for teams to develop and
write the course proposals
-
outcome- fully developed interdisciplinary,
team-taught course proposal ready for curriculum review

each faculty member will receive a
stipend for participation and completion of the proposal

offered twice a year for the duration
of the grant
Implementation:

Schedule new courses for fall semester
of the year as Rowan Seminar courses for entering freshmen
