The Speaker: Charles A. Ott is a Technology Guardian for DuPont’s phenylenediamines process at the Chambers Works facility in Deepwater, NJ. He is also the leader of DuPont’s corporate Chlorine Safety Guardian committee and the company’s official correspondent to the Chlorine Institute, an industry group dedicated to safe handling of Chlorine chemicals. He is a trained Process Safety Management auditor and also is certified by the Department of Homeland Security in Chemical-terrorism Vulnerability Information. He holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Akron.
Abstract: US Government regulations of highly toxic materials have been increasing in response to incidents involving these chemicals. These have had impacts on industry, particularly in the areas of catastrophe prevention. This seminar gives an overview of incidents that have shaped regulation and some of the requirements that have been revised for industry and proposed to as a result.
