Entrance Requirements

Freshmen:
A student who wants to enroll in the computer science major must meet the following minimum requirement:

A score of 540 or better on the math component of the SAT exam

Optional recommended requirements:

Three years of high school mathematics
At least one programming course

Internal transfers:
A Rowan student who wants to change to a computer science major must achieve one of the following:

B- or better in Computer Science and Programming -OR-
B- or better in Foundations of Computer Science -OR-
B- or better in Calculus-I -OR-
B+ or better in Introduction to Programming -OR-
B+ or better in Introduction to Scientific Programming

External transfers:
We require a B- or better grade in either a programming course or PreCalculus or Calculus-I

Applications are available in the Computer Science department and an advisor's signature is required.
