Certificate and Concentration in GIS and Cartography

Are you a Rowan University undergraduate student or a working professional who needs to sharpen your skills in an area that is growing rapidly and in which there are many opportunities for employment? Then you should consider the concentration and certificate programs and cartography and geographical information systems. These multidisciplinary programs enable you to select courses in computer science, mathematics, and geography that will enhance your skills and marketability in this rapidly growing area.

Majors in computer science, marketing, environmental studies and mathematics might find the concentration program adds a little something extra to their transcripts and resumes. Working professionals, including civil engineers, surveyors, landscape architects, planners, environmental scientists, law enforcement personnel and many others will find the certificate program provides skills useful in their professions.

To complete either program, the student selects from a set of business, computer science, geography and mathematics courses. Dr. Richard A. Scott, professor of geography and program advisor, assists students in selecting an appropriate program using a developmental approach to student advising.
