Travel to Europe with "GEOGRAPHY OF EUROPE" Course (MAY 2008)
Students interested in traveling to/studying in France, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, and Belgium, and earning 3 Rowan credits are encouraged to contact Dr. Denyse Lemaire, Department of Geography and Anthropology.
This trip will depart Philadelphia on May 21st and return June 4th. The number of students will be limited to 20. You will earn 3 credits by taking the course "Geography of Europe," and visit France, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, and Belgium. Dr. Lemaire will lead the tour, and she will be assisted in Europe by French geologist Bernard Langellier and Belgian geographer Guy Laigaux. The $3,300 price is all-inclusive (airline ticket on Air France, all transportation, activities, visits, tips, hotels, meals, drinks, and travel insurance). The three credit class will be paid separately by the students. A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to secure participation in the trip. Rowan University Discovers Australia, French Polynesia, and New Zealand (JULY/AUGUST 2008)
The cost of this all-inclusive trip is $5,300 and includes 24 days, air and ground transportation, all activities (including 5 cruises and 1 show), all meals and hotels, tips, bed and breakfasts, and occasional high quality hostels. Dr. Lemaire has extensive expertise in the area (8 trips to Australia, and 4 to New Zealand and Tahiti) and will make all travel arrangements. She is committed to making your trip the experience of a lifetime. This one-credit independent study course “Independent Study in Geography” must be paid separately by students.
The number of participants is limited to 12. The trip is available on a first come first serve basis. The prospective departure date is Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008 and the return is Friday, August 15th. You will spend two days in French Polynesia, three days in New Zealand, three days in Sydney (New South Wales), seven days in Northern Queensland (Great Barrier Reef), and nine days in the Northern Territory. INTERNATIONAL FACULTY-LED FIELD RESEARCH
Serena Archaeology Field School, La Serena (Chile)
Provides hands-on experience for students interested in archaeology, bioarchaeology, and forensic anthropology. Students participate in a four to five week field experience at Serena where they are involved in archaeological conservation, a bioarchaeology research project, and forensic anthropology workshops. If funding is available, Serena invites the students to participate in an archaeological excavation in Chile. Contact Dr.
