Course Information:  

 

  • Description:     This course introduces students to the techniques of differential and integral calculus. Emphasis is placed on practical applications of limits, derivatives and integrals with business applications highlighted. This course also provides experience with and information about the significance and specific uses of the calculus in today’s world.  A graphics calculator is required.  Students are expected to have completed an equivalent of the course College Algebra.

  • T1-83 Graphing Calculator.
  • Rowan network account (Access to email and WebCT)

 

Attendance Policy: 

 

Attendance is mandatory.  An attendance sheet will be passed around at the beginning of each class period; please sign next to your name.  Students will only be allowed to make up work for excused absences.  Please refer to Rowan’s policy on class attendance ( see the Rowan undergraduate catalog).  If a class is missed, the student is responsible for all work and notes that are missed.  Children are not allowed in class at any time.

 

Grading Policy: 

 

There are many factors that are considered when determining the final grade for the course.  They are as follows: class participation, attendance, assignments, tests and final exam.  The final exam will be cumulative. There are no make-ups available for the final exam.

    A .......90 to 100    
    B .......80 to 89  
    C .......70 to 79  
    D .......60 to 69
