Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) in Applied Behavior Analysis The Certificate of Advacned Graduate Study (CAGS) in Applied Behavior Analysis is designed to provide students with the necessary coursework required to apply for certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The BCBA certification requires a Masters degree and 1500 hours of supervised practice. As of January, 2011, the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc. specifies that the masters degree must be "from an accredited university, that was conferred in behavior analysis or other natural science, education, human services, engineering, medicine or a field related to behavior analysis and approved by the BACB." Students taking the CAGS coursework have to have a Masters degree or be matriculated in a Masters program.
