One month to go until substantial completion, and it’s looking like we will really make it! The many months of hard work are bearing fruit, as we begin to finalize construction, floor by floor. All of the major building systems are currently being tested, with boilers, chiller, air handlers, water heaters, all beginning to hum.
Terrazzo floors are polished, paint is going on the walls, carpeting is being installed, and doors are appearing where there used to be just holes in the wall. Our planned “green roof” is finally actually green – with a massive amount of sedum brightening up the view of the 2nd floor roof.
Even the streets surrounding the school are getting an upgrade. Paving of the perimeter streets is almost finished, and we have new sidewalks already in place. In addition, this week you’ll see trees appearing around the entire perimeter of the building, with new lamp posts arriving soon.
Once we get to substantial completion on June 1, we’ll have another month of ongoing work – finalizing punch lists, installing furniture and equipment, and making final adjustments to the systems and facility. Once those adjustment are complete, we’ll be ready to move in and welcome our inaugural class!
Only a few updates left here... so stay tuned!
