The Promise to educate medical students to be future physician leaders.

Traditional leadership usually refers to a person asserting power from the top of the pyramid. By comparison, the physician leader shares power and puts the needs of others first. The physician leader cares deeply about having a positive impact on others and on the community. This is the person you want to care for your family - knowledgeable, dedicated, and compassionate; someone who inspires other physicians to act similarly. We believe that empathy must remain an integral part of the practice of medicine. To achieve this we nurture the natural idealism that most medical students have when they begin their training.
