CMSRU is a proud to have Cooper University Health Care as its major clinical affiliate.

Cooper University Health Care, the clinical campus of Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, has been a vital institution in Camden for 125 years and is the leading provider of health services to more than half a million patients per year in Southern New Jersey. The mission of Cooper is to advance the health status of the region’s population through the provision of high quality patient care. The clinical faculty of Cooper Medical School of Rowan University are part of the Cooper system, with nearly 600 physicians in over 75 specialties. They have gained more than three decades of teaching expertise, which they now dedicate to the physicians-in-training at CMSRU. Cooper University Health Care takes pride in its ability to offer a comprehensive array of diagnostic and treatment services, serving as Southern New Jersey’s major tertiary-care referral hospital for specialized services. These signature programs include: Level I Southern New Jersey Regional Trauma Center, MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper, Cooper Heart Institute, Cooper Bone and Joint Institute, Cooper Neurosciences Institute and Critical Care. Cooper is also home to Children’s Regional Hospital, the only state-designated children’s hospital in South Jersey. Cooper University Health Care offers a network of comprehensive services that include prevention and wellness, primary and specialty physician services, hospital care, ambulatory diagnostic and treatment services, and home health care within Southern New Jersey and the entire Delaware Valley.

In addition to its educational programs, Cooper University Health Care offers a broad agenda in the field of research. Cooper physicians are involved in ongoing research and development as they keep abreast of changing facets of medical care. As an academic medical center, Cooper continuously attempts to improve a patient’s quality of life through the research efforts of its medical staff.
