Application Process

Early Decision

Candidates considering an Early Decision must contact the Office of Admissions prior to July 15th and before submitting their AMCAS application, at 856-361-2850 or to arrange to speak with the Director of Admissions. Initial applications must be processed through AMCAS.

Please provide our office with written or email notification of your intention to apply Early Decision. This notification should include a statement that you agree to apply to no other medical school until CMSRU acts on your application and that you will accept an offer of admission should one be extended.

The AMCAS application and all other documents must be received prior to August 1.

Your completed Early Decision application will be reviewed promptly by our Committee on Admissions and, if appropriate, you will be invited to visit our campus for an interview sometime from mid-August to mid-September. We will reach a decision on your Early Decision application and notify you no later than October. If accepted, you will have our binding commitment of a seat in the next entering class. If deferred, your application will be considered again in the context of our entire applicant pool but you are free to apply to other medical schools.


Scheduling Interviews

Invited applicants will be able to schedule their own interview days online. They will be contacted via email to select a date. The interview day is described here, and includes traditional formats combined with more interactive assessment of each candidate’s fit with our mission. A map of the area and a list of local hotels and restaurants will be sent with interview instructions.

Secondary applications

Selected AMCAS applicants will be contacted with an invitation to complete our secondary application electronically. We will accept no paper applications. This application contains questions relating to our institutional mission, requiring short written responses, as well as entry of some biographical data. Applicants will be able to access their electronic file at all times to view the application status and to see which (if any) materials are missing from the file. All completed applications will be screened, and selected applicants will be invited to schedule an interview.


The fee for our secondary application is $75, payable at the time of submission. Applicants who qualify for the Fee Assistance Program (FAP) through AMCAS will be eligible for a fee waiver.

Acceptance Offers

Our admissions offers will occur on a rolling basis. In most cases, offers will be made within three weeks of a candidate’s interview dates. Initial offers will be made via email, with official offers following via US mail.
