Important 2016 Dates

January 1
  • File the 2016-2017 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online with your 2015 federal tax documents by logging onto
    • Be certain to list Rowan University’s School Code: 002609.
    • Your Federal Student Aid-FSA ID is required to electronically sign your application. If you do not already have your FSA ID or you cannot remember it, log onto before you complete your electronic application.   
  • Complete the CMSRU Institutional Form (accepted students only).
  • Students should begin to apply for CMSRU institutional scholarship funding by submitting the CMSRU Institutional Form (scholarship application). Parental income/assets are required on the FAFSA for these awards, unless the student provides an unusaunless the student is married (if applicable, income/assets for the spouse are required).
  • Students should begin to apply for outside/private scholarships. Students must notify the office via email at if outside/private scholarships are expected.
March 1
  • Priority review is provided to applicants who submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by this date.
  • Priority review is provided to applicants who submit the CMSRU Institutional Form (scholarship application) by this date.
    • The CMSRU Institutional Form is required in order for accepted students to be considered for institutional scholarships.
    • This form will be provided only to accepted CMSRU students and reviewed alongside a complete/finalized FAFSA with complete/finalized federal tax information.
April 1
  • Deadline to submit the FAFSA.
  • Deadline to submit the CMSRU Institutional Form.
June 1
  • Complete the below financial aid requirements online at
    • Complete your Federal Direct Loan Entrance Counseling.
    • Sign your Federal Direct Loan Master Promissory Note-MPN.
    • If additional funding is needed, apply for a credit based Federal Graduate PLUS Direct Loan OR
    • Apply for a credit based Private/Alternative Education Loan directly with any lender you choose.
