Bike Patrol

The Rowan University Bike Patrol Unit is comprised of thirteen officers.

The officers are a mixture of security officers and police officers.

The Bike Patrol Unit operates twenty-four hours a day seven days a week, weather permitting. These officers perform the same duties as other uniformed officers on campus however; they are able to navigate more easily throughout the campus.

A few benefits to having the bike unit on campus are it promotes high visibility of the officers, which enables the campus community to feel safer while moving about the campus. It also makes the officer more approachable by the students and faculty in a time of need and it allows the officer to interact more easily with the community. The bike patrol officers are able to conduct routine patrol functions and they are able to perform numerous other functions that a patrol officer in a vehicle would not be able to complete.

The Rowan University Bike Patrol Unit welcomes interactions with the Rowan University Community so please do not hesitate to approach a bike officer and ask questions.

Please feel free to contact the bike patrol supervisor Patrolman Ryan Brennan with any questions about our bike patrol.
