Student line-up: 9 a.m.
Ceremony start time: 10 a.m.
Duration: Approximately 1.25 hours

After completing and handing in the graduation application to the Registrar’s Office, all students must register to participate in the Undergraduate Commencement by visiting the Student Self-Service here and following these directions:

  • Access Banner Services and then enter your Banner ID and PIN
  • Select "Student and Financial Aid" and click on "Commencement"
  • Finally, select "Commencement Attendance Confirmation" to let us know if you are attending your Commencement Ceremonies

The ONLY way to secure graduation tickets and your seat at Commencement is by completing this form. Each undergraduate student registered to participate will receive four (4) tickets that must be picked up in Bole Hall Annex May 5-6. You will also receive a booklet explaining further Undergraduate Commencement details in the mail.

Commencement tickets must be picked up on May 5 and 6 in Bole Hall Annex. Tickets can only be picked up with two forms of photo ID. If you cannot make either of these dates, please send a self addressed, stamped envelope to the Office of University Events in Bole Hall Annex by April 30. You must include a copy of two forms of photo ID. The last day to pick up tickets in person is May 14.

All graduates are expected to attend the main ceremony starting at 10 a.m. on the University Green AND their secondary ceremony starting at approximately 11:30 a.m. at their respective locations around campus.

During the main ceremony, the Board of Trustee Chair, the President and the Provost will confer your degree. All majors will be recognized during the main ceremony. Your name will not be called and personal photos will not be taken at this ceremony.

Secondary ceremonies for each individual college will begin 20 minutes after the main ceremony.

Ticket Requirement

Tickets are not required for the traditional outside main ceremony on the University Green. The ceremony is set for 10,000 people. Due to capacity limitations and fire regulations, tickets are required for all indoor ceremonies. Guests will NOT be permitted to enter an indoor ceremony without the proper ticket.

Main Ceremony – No tickets required

Secondary Ceremonies

College of Business—Tickets required
Esby Gym – indoor ceremony

College of Business students will receive four (4) guest tickets for their ceremony. Any additional guests must wait in the lobby until all ticket holders are seated before they are allowed to enter the venue. Ushers will be on hand to escort guests accordingly.

College of Communication— Tickets required
Student Recreation Center – indoor ceremony

College of Communication students will receive four (4) guest tickets for their ceremony. Any additional guests must wait in the lobby until all ticket holders are seated before they are allowed to enter the venue. Ushers will be on hand to escort guests accordingly.

College of Education—Tickets not required
John Page Football Field – outdoor ceremony

College of Education students will receive four (4) guest tickets for their ceremony. The outside ceremony does not require tickets. However, due to capacity limitations and fire regulations, if inclement weather forces the ceremony inside, tickets are required for entry and no extra tickets are available.

College of Engineering—Tickets not required
Rowan Green – outdoor ceremony

College of Engineering students will receive four (4) guest tickets for their ceremony. The outside ceremony does not require tickets. However, due to capacity limitations and fire regulations, if inclement weather forces the ceremony inside, tickets are required for entry and no extra tickets are available.

College of Fine and Performing Arts— Tickets required
Pfleeger Concert Hall, Wilson Hall – inside ceremony

College of Fine and Performing Arts students will receive four (4) guest tickets for their ceremony. Any additional guests must wait in the lobby until all ticket holders are seated before they are allowed to enter the venue. Ushers will be on hand to escort guests accordingly.

College of Liberal Arts and Sciences—Tickets not required
University Green – outside ceremony

College of Liberal Arts and Sciences students will receive three (3) guest tickets for their ceremony. After the main ceremony, stay in your seats. Do not leave. The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences secondary ceremony location is at the main ceremony location—University Green. The outside ceremony does not require tickets. Your family and friends may move closer to the student area once graduates are rearranged according to majors in the designated front area. Due to capacity limitations and fire regulations, if inclement weather forces the ceremony inside, tickets are required for entry and no extra tickets are available.

In the event of inclement weather, all Undergraduate Commencement ceremonies will move indoors to the following locations and times:

The Board of Trustee Chair, the President and the Provost will confer degrees at each individual ceremony. The dean of each college will explain the procedure prior to the start of each ceremony.

Time changes or cancellations for inclement weather will be announced beginning at 7 a.m. on WGLS-FM 89.7 and KYW-AM 1060. This information will also be available by phone at (856) 256-4000 and on the University Web site here.
