Financial Aid
Rowan University provides financial assistance to eligible graduate students on the basis of financial need. Students must enroll on at least a half-time basis (4-1/2 credits) to qualify. More information is available from the Financial Aid Office at (856) 256-4250.
Applications should be filed as soon as possible after January 1. Applicants are advised not to wait for an admission decision before applying for need-based financial aid.

Graduate Assistantships
A limited number of graduate full- or part-time assistantships are available each year for qualified matriculated degree students. Assistantships include a waiver of tuition for program required courses and a stipend.
Graduate Assistantships Information
Research Assistantships
Graduate Research Assistantships are available for matriculated graduate students at Rowan University who are employed on a research project under the supervision of a faculty advisor. Students who wish to apply for a graduate research assistantship should contact their graduate program coordinator to determine the availability of graduate research assistantships in their program.
Residence Life and Recreation Center Assistantships
Opportunities are available for matriculated graduate students to work as residence hall directors or student recreation center assistants. Resident directors receive a monetary stipend plus room and board for the fall and spring terms. For more information, students should contact the Office of Residence Life at 256-4266 or the Director of the Student Recreation Center at 256-4900.

Scholarship Programs
Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Graduate Scholarship
Applications for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Graduate Scholarship program are not being accepted at this time. More information will be available in March 2007. Deadline for applications is usually at noon on the last Friday in March. All applications must be submitted to Dr. S. Jay Kuder, Associate Provost for Research and Dean of The Graduate School, Memorial Hall, Rowan University, 201 Mullica Hill Rd., Glassboro, NJ 08028. Applications must be complete in order to be considered by the campus review committee.

Alumni Scholarships
Awarded to a full-time matriculated graduate student with a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. Contact the Rowan University Foundation at 256-4095.
MST Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships are available to eligible students from minority racial and under-represented ethnic groups who qualify for admission to the Master of Science in Teaching (MST) graduate degree program. Contact The Graduate School at 256-4050.
American Association of University Women

James John Shornock, Jr. Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time matriculated graduate student with at 3.0 cumulative grade point average. Contact the Dean of Students office (256-4040).
Maryann Shornock Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time matriculated graduate student with at 3.0 cumulative grade point average. Contact the Dean of Students at 256-4283.
Marion & William Bickley Scholarship Fund
First priority is to a student matriculated in the Educational Specialist (ED.S.) program in learning disabilities. Second priority is to a student matriculated in the Master of Arts (MS.A.) program in Learning Disabilities. Third priority will be to a matriculated student in a program leading to a teaching certificate. Contact the Dean of Students at 256-4283.
Eugene Vivian Environmental Education Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time matriculated student in the graduate Environmental Education program with a 3.5 cumulative grade point average. The student must reside in New Jersey. Contact the Dean of Students at 256-4283.
Jim McCann – Doug Wheaton Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time matriculated student in the Applied Psychology program with a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. Priority is given to someone in the program with law enforcement in their background. Contact the Dean of Students at 256-4283.

Veterans' Benefits
Eligible veterans may receive financial assistance in monthly payments based on dates and duration of service. Students interested in veterans' assistance should contact their local offices of the Veterans Administration or the Office of Specialized Services at 256-4233.
