Rowan University Housing

Have you mailed your Enrollment Confirmation form and enrollment fee to the Admissions Office? If not, you cannot apply for housing yet. The Enrollment Confirmation form and fee must be received and entered by the admissions office before you can apply for housing.

Welcome to Residential Learning at Rowan University. The Office of Residential Learning and University Housing (RLUH) uses an online application process for Housing and Meal Plans that is easy and convenient.

Directions:

  • Log onto www.rowan.edu/selfservice
  • Login using your Rowan Student Identification number (printed on your acceptance letter) and your six digit birthdate (MMDDYY if you have not already changed your password)
  • Click on the "Student tab"
  • Click on "My Housing"
  • Click on "Apply Online" Fill out appropriate application for the correct term

Should you at any time like to go back and update preferences in your application, you can do so by logging back in and editing your original application.

To request roommates:

  • Log onto www.rowan.edu/selfservice
  • Login using your Rowan Student Identification number (printed on your acceptance letter) and your six digit birthdate (MMDDYY if you have not already changed your password)
  • Click on "My Housing"
  • Click on "My Housing" again Hover over "Room Selection"
  • Click "Roommate Selection"

Please note students must wait until the next business day after they have filled out their housing application to complete their roommate requests. In addition, roommates must mutually select one another through My Housing.

As part of the application process, you will be directed to the Rowan University secure web payent site to subit your $200 housing deposit. The deposit will be credited toward your housing bill. The housing deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE. Your housing application is not considered complete until after the housing deposit has been submitted with your online application.

The housing deposit may be paid via credit card (VISA, MC, AMEX) or electronic check. Please have your credit card or checkbook ready in order to complete the process. DO NOT send payment through the mail.

Mandatory Housing

It is the policy of Rowan University that all unmarried undergraduate full-time students, under the age of 21, whether or not emancipated, who will not be living in the residence of their parent or legal guardian, must reside in the University residential facilities until completion of their sophomore year (or four full-semesters). Students who wish to commute from the residence of their parent or legal guardians must live within a 40-mile radius of the institution and furnish a notarized statement of student residence confirming this.

Meningitis Vaccination

Documentation of Meningitis vaccine is required for all new students prior to any housing assignment. See "Health Forms"

Disability Accommodations

If you have a documented disability that may require special housing accommodations, you must provide documentation of your disability to the Academic Success Center in order to receive official University services and accommodations. The Academic Success Center can be reached at 856-256-4259.

Housing and Meal Plan Options

  • All Freshmen must reside in the Freshmen Residence Halls.
  • Freshmen Residence Hall students must select the All-Access or 14 meals per week meal plan.
  • Transfer students may choose housing preference from Residence Hall room, Apartment, or Townhouse. All residence hall students (upperclassmen) must select from the All-Access, 14 meals/week, 10 meals/week, or 7 meals/week meal plans.
  • Students residing in an apartment or townhouse may select from any of the available meal plans.
  • Commuting students may choose any meal plan, if desired.
  • All students may choose to add funds to the optional RowanCard Debit Account to learn more, refer to www.rowan.edu/rowancard.

Residence Hall Room (double occupancy) - $3,515 per semester

Triad & Edgewood Park Apartments - $3,679 per semester

The Townhouse Complex - $4,436 per semester Rowan Boulevard Apartments - $4,745 per semester

The Whitney Center - $4,791 per semester

Meal Plan Options - 2012/2013 Academic Year (rates subject to change, consistent with University policy, without notice to individual students)

All Access meal plan and $100 dining dollars + $100 Boro Bucks - $2,080 per semester

14 meals per week and $100 dining dollars + $200 Boro Bucks - $1,945 per semester

10 meals per week and $100 dining dollars + $200 Boro Bucks - $1,740 per semester

7 meals per week and $100 dining dollars + $200 Boro Bucks - $1,390 per semester

50 meals/semester and $75 dining dollars + $100 Boro Bucks - $565 per semester

25 meals/semester and $75 dining dollars + $100 Boro Bucks - $370 per semester
