For candidates who wish to become middle or high school teachers of Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Physical Science, it is necessary to pursue two degrees at Rowan; a degree in Bachelor of Science or Arts pertaining to the specific Science major and a degree in education. This dual degree combination leads to initial teacher certification that permits candidates to teach Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Physical Science grades K-12. Upon graduation, you will be qualified to teach either one of the following (pertaining to the chosen science major) Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Physical Science at any level from Kindergarten through grade 12; however, as elementary schools are rarely departmentalized, most graduates teach in content specific classrooms, grades 6-12.
