Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine

A New Beginning

On July 1, 2013, as part of the New Jersey Medical and Higher Education Restructuring Act, Rowan now includes the School of Osteopathic Medicine. The medical school was formerly part of the recently dissolved University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) at Stratford and is now known as the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine.

In the current Rowan-SOM curriculum, students are exposed to rigorous studies of the latest knowledge base in research and the basic sciences. The curriculum prepares them for clinical studies, stressing the encouragement of lifelong and self-directed learning as a continuous process.

No matter what your career goals or professional aspirations, post-doctoral training with the RowanSOM OPTI of NJ will present you with opportunity, support and encouragement. If you aspire to excellence in your education and your career, the RowanSOM OPTI of NJ is the place for you.

Improving the health of individuals and communities begins with research. The academic departments at the School of Osteopathic Medicine consist of dedicated clinical and biomedical scientists with expertise in diverse disciplines.
