Educational Opportunity Fund

The EOF program provides access, preparation, orientation and academic support for students who face significant challenges in earning a college education because of economic and/or educational disadvantages.

Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF)

Rowan accepts students who otherwise might be shut out of a college education because of lack of funds and limited academic preparation. Students must be New Jersey residents and meet certain academic and financial requirements specified by Admissions and EOF Office. All EOF students are required to attend a six-week Pre-College Institute program on campus the summer before their freshman year. The EOF program provides support services and mentorship for EOF students throughout the duration of their academic careers at Rowan.

Applying to EOF

Applicants should select "EOF" under "Program Selection and Additional Information" when completing the Freshman Application.

Also required:

  • Official high school transcript
  • Interview with a Rowan Admissions Counselor
  • Demonstrate need for substantial financial aid
  • Two letters of recommendation from teachers and/or counselors
  • File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and indicate on the FAFSA that Rowan University should receive a copy of the analysis
  • EOF Supplemental Application (available October 1)

Students living with parents at the time of their application must send the university a copy of their parents' (both, if applicable) most recent W-2 statement of wage earnings or income tax return. After an application and financial aid forms are submitted and an interview is completed the Admissions Office will consider the student for admission as an EOF student.

Please visit the EOF office website, email EOFadmissions@rowan.edu or call (856) 256-4080 with any questions.
