Life Insurance
Employer-paid group life insurance is available without medical examination unless the member has attained age 60 prior to enrollment. Coverage equals three and one half times base salary. When coverage reduces or ends, members can convert all or a portion of the group life insurance to an individual policy within thirty-one days.

Long-Term Disability
Members are eligible for employer-paid long- term disability after one year of participation in the pension program. The plan pays 60% of monthly base salary (reduced by other periodic benefits such as Social Security), if totally and permanently disabled.
Short-Term Disability
Temporary benefits are available to eligible employees. Benefits are paid at two-thirds of the average weekly wage up to a specified maximum amount set by the state each year. No benefits are payable for more than 26 weeks with respect to any one period of disability.

Vested members of the pension plan are eligible to receive loan based on their account balances.

Retirement and Cash Distributions
Eligible members of the pension plan may commence distribution at any age upon termination of employment or retirement. Members may receive benefits in the form of an annuity or cash distribution (cash disbursements to members under age 55 are limited to their employee contributions and accumulations. The remaining employer contributions and earnings are available upon attaining age 55).

This federal benefit allows you to reduce your taxes one of three ways:
The Unreimbursed Medical Spending Account
Any medical or dental expense that would be deductible on your income tax is reimbursable under this ac-count.
The Dependent Care Spending Account
Allows you to set aside up to $5,000 of your before-tax salary each year to pay for qualified dependent care expenses.
The Premium Option Plan
Allows you to pay your State Health Benefits Pro-gram health and/or dental premiums with before-tax dollars.

Home Purchase Incentive
Employees of the University are eligible to receive $1,500.00 per year towards the taxes on property purchased in Glassboro, NJ. The property must be your primary residence. The maximum payment is $15,000 per employee to be paid over a ten-year period (rates and incentive program are subject to change and/or termination without notice).
