Creating a College of Health Sciences
The New Jersey Medical and Health Sciences Education Restructuring Act partners Rowan University with Rutgers-Camden to create a College of Health Sciences in Camden, N.J., anchored by Cooper Medical School of Rowan University.
Enhances "eds-med" corridor
The new College's programs (and eventual building) will join Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, Cooper University Health Care, the Cooper-MD Anderson Cancer Center and the Coriell Institute for Medical Research as part of the growing "eds-meds" corridor in the City of Camden.
Rowan is in the preliminary planning stages for the College and anticipates it will include programs in nursing, pharmaceutical sciences, public health and allied health fields, among others.
Appointees from Rowan, Rutgers-Camden and the governor, as members of the Board of Governors, will oversee the College, which will educate the health care providers, scientists and researchers of tomorrow who will provide direct and indirect care for New Jersey residents.
