Graduate Program Information

UPDATE: The Graduate School no longer requires a $100 enrollment confirmation deposit from International Students

Thank you for your interest in Rowan University's graduate programs. We welcome International students and hope that you will consider Rowan for your education in the United States. The Graduate Application for Admission is currently being revised. You may continue to use the current application, but please read the following information. In addition to the forms and documents listed in the admission application booklet, applicants currently in the United States with an F-1 visa must complete the "Transfer Form for F-1 Students". Please submit copies of your current I-20, visa, I-94 card, and the personal information page from your passport.

Graduate School Progams, Admissions Process and General Requirements

International applicants should be aware of a number of important considerations regarding the Graduate School's programs and its admissions process. Please read the following general information and requirements. In addition, be aware that each graduate program has its own specific admission requirements in addition to the general requirements. Those requirements are detailed in the Graduate application for admission.

1. Rowan University offers a variety of master's degree programs in the Colleges of Business, Engineering, Communication, Liberal Arts & Sciences and Fine & Performing Arts. These Colleges do not offer doctoral level programs. A complete list of programs can be viewed on the Graduate School home page.

2. Graduate programs in the College of Education are primarily geared to the educational requirements of the State of New Jersey and the certification of New Jersey teachers; therefore, they are not, in most cases, appropriate for international students.

3. International students receive no government supported financial aid or loans at Rowan University. While International students are eligible for consideration for graduate assistantships, they must submit documentation of support for tuition and living expenses (see "Financial Considerations for International Applicants") to be considered for admission.

4. Admission requirements include proof of a four-year baccalaureate degree at a US institution or its foreign equivalent, an official transcript evaluation of foreign credentials performed by World Education Services, a TOEFL score of 550 (paper)/ 213 (computer version)/ 79 (IbT), GRE or GMAT test results (depending upon the program), as well as other requirements specified in the "Eligibility Requirements" section of the admission application.

Enrollment Requirements

Per immigration and University requirements, international students must maintain full-time enrollment status. Full- time enrollment in the Graduate School for either fall or spring semester is a minimum of nine (9) credit hours per semester.

Housing and Meal  Contracts
All students who intend to live on campus must complete a Housing Contract. International Students do not have to pay the $200 Housing  deposit until they arrive at the University. Freshmen students are required to purchase meal plans. Students who live in apartments are not required to take a meal plan; they will be housed in a room with kitchen facilities. However, most students take a 50 meal plan or open a Rowan Debit account for convenience.
