Facilities
The Student Center is the hub of student
activities. It houses the Student Government Association and other
student organizations, lounges, study rooms, a convenience store, and
the dining hall, snack bar and game room. The new library at Rowan was
opened in 1995. The $16.8 million structure provides research space,
group study areas, computer stations, and microfilm and media areas.
The Recreation Center is a comprehensive recreational sports facility
that houses a pool, running track, racquetball courts and a multi-sport
gym. Activities offered include intramural sports, fitness activities,
and a variety of programs
Residence Life
The University residence halls provide spaces
for approximately 3,000 students. All arrangements concerning housing
and assignment of the University residence halls are made in the Office
of Residence Life. University policy requires freshmen and sophomores
to live on campus unless they are married and living with a spouse.
Third and fourth year students have the option of living off-campus.
Students must sign a one-year housing contract. Students who live in
residence halls without kitchen facilities must purchase a dining
contract.
Most on-campus accommodations and dining
halls are closed during summer and other vacation times; however, one
residence hall remains open for students who would like to live on
campus. This residence hall is equipped with kitchen facilities for
meal preparation during periods when the dining facilities are closed.
Each residence hall and apartment complex is
directed by a Residence Hall Director (RD). The Director supervises a
staff of Resident Assistants (RA). The residence staff work to promote
the well-being of the campus community. All RD’s and RA’s are trained
to work with student concerns and campus resources, policies,
procedures and regulations. The University encourages students to take
advantage of the services and skills of the residence staff.

care are provided. Emergency medical insurance is required for all
International Students. The $120 annual fee is included in each
