Introduction

These guidelines are designed for engineering students who require use of the Plotter to print posters for Clinic courses, conferences, STEM Symposium, etc.

Plotter Use / Poster Printing Policy

By default, students are not granted access to print to the Plotter printer located in the 3rd Floor Lab (room 322) of Rowan Hall. All poster and plot printing jobs must be sent to the plotter either by Faculty & Staff, or by the Enginering IT Staff.

Students that require a poster to be printed on the plotter can submit their poster to the IT Staff for printing under the following guidelines.

  • IT must have Oral or Written consent from an advising Faculty or Staff member prior to printing. Please have your supervising professor, clinic professor, faculty advisor, etc. contact us either verbally or via email to consent the printing of your poster.
  • All posters must be designed with in the prescribed guidlines and recommended dimensions.
  • All posters will be printed on a first-come, first-servebasis. However, priority will be given to faculty and staff.
  • Students who wish to request a poster to be plotted should save their finished poster to the Student_Posters directory on the Student Public Directory
(P: or \\velocity\PUBLIC\openarea\engineering\students\student_posters). Then email support@galaxy.rowan.edu with your request including the name of the poster file.
  • Students should submit posters for printing approximately 2 business days prior to the day they require the poster to be complete. The IT staff requires some time for processing, proofing, and printing, and often your poster will be queued in a line of posters to be printed.
  • By Default, posters will be printed on Plain, Coated Paper. The IT Department does not stock Glossy Paper for the plotter. Posters can be printed on Glossy paper at request if the glossy paper roll to be used for printing is provided by the requestor.
  • All poster printing, plotter use, and acceptable poster format will be at the discretion of the Engineering IT Staff.
