The following makes & models of computing hardware are recommended for purchase by faculty & staff. The IT Engineering department will be able to fully support any of the brands and models listed below. We highly recommend that you consult with the Eng IT staff regarding all computing hardware acquisitions prior to purchase. Note that not all models are suited for all applications, especially when purchased with the intented use for engineering applications.

New Purchases

• Lenovo Desktops & Notebooks are supported throughout the Rowan Campus. Lenovo is the preferred vendor of Information Resources for Rowan University.
• Mac Desktops & MacBooks are supported by Rowan Campus. However, many of the Engineering software packages are not supported natively on the OSX platform. Please consult the Engineering IT staff about your specific software needs prior to making Apple purchases.
• All Model HP LaserJet, DeskJet, & DesignJet Printers including JetDirect Network Cards for networked printers. All networked printers must be approved by the Eng IT Staff and NSS.
