Position: Rohrer Charitable Foundation Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurship, College of Business

The Rohrer Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurship is a multi-year appointment that combines teaching, scholarship and outreach to the entrepreneurial community. The successful candidate will be a nationally known scholar and teacher in entrepreneurship and innovation who has demonstrated the ability to engage various constituencies in entrepreneurship endeavors.

Responsibilities include maintaining an active research agenda, academic leadership, and teaching entrepreneurship. The Rohrer Chair will direct the outreach activities of Rowan University Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which houses the College of Business Incubator at the South Jersey Technology Park (SJTP), Entrepreneurs Forum of Southern New Jersey, and Nonprofit Development Center. The Rohrer Chair will engage in enhancing the visibility of the newly established entrepreneurship program, conducting campus and community programs, promoting entrepreneurship and developing funding sources for those activities. The Rohrer Chair will work in several interconnected venues: · The Jones Innovation Center, which houses the Rohrer COB technology incubator center and College of Engineering, projects with regional technology companies. The Center has been opened since October 2008· The initiative of the Rohrer COB to implement a project based learning initiative throughout all major programs· The Non Profit Development Center which permits engagement in social entrepreneurship projects

Qualifications:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in Entrepreneurship, Management, Business or a closely related area. Applicants must have a long-term vision, demonstrated leadership in teaching, a record of scholarly productivity and professional service in entrepreneurship. A strong interest in, and commitment to, excellence in entrepreneurship education, research, and student engagement is required. Candidates must be appointable at the full professor level.

As the Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the Rohrer Chair reports and is accountable to the Dean of the Rohrer College of Business. As such, the Dean will evaluate her /his performance. The Rohrer Endowed Chair position reports to the Chairperson of the Management and Entrepreneurship Department for academic purposes., One of three academic departments within the College of Business, the Management and Entrepreneurship Department offers B.S. degree programs in Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, and Management. Entrepreneurship is a growing undergraduate major and is offered as a focus area in the MBA Program. All positions are contingent upon budget appropriations.
