Position: Assistant Professor, Educational Leadership & Change (tenure-track), College of Education

Assistant Professor, Educational Leadership with demonstrated expertise in Educational Leadership and Change, College of Education .

The department is seeking a colleague to play an integral role in our K-16 doctoral program in educational leadership. In keeping with the Rowan mission to foster professional learning communities, our faculty works collaboratively for the development and implementation of cutting edge programs for developing tomorrow's educational leaders. The Educational Leadership Department has several cohorts within the doctoral program including a P-16 cohort, K-12 cohort, and a Community College Leadership cohort. This person will play an integral role in the Ed.D. Program in educational leadership and provide support to the P-16 and K-12 cohorts. The successful candidate will develop and teach courses in the doctoral program which may require off campus teaching duties. Summer teaching opportunities are also available.

Qualifications:

An earned doctorate (Ed.D. or Ph.D.) from an accredited institution with an emphasis in educational leadership/administration or higher education administration by September 1, 2010 is required. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge in educational leadership and change and/or organizational behavior. The successful candidate must also demonstrate: excellence in teaching and a commitment to interactive and field-based work; a record of professional activities and emerging or ongoing scholarship; strong research skills and proficiency in various research methodologies (Quantitative, qualitative and/or action research). All candidates must be able to demonstrate currency and fluency in educational leadership, research and change literature; a personal vision for leadership in educational settings that challenges how to develop educational leaders; an ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external relationships in dynamic and collaborative environments; a clear understanding of the social justice issues that face educational leaders, and a commitment to equity and the celebration of diversity in a pluralistic society.

The university is located in a suburban, residential setting in southern New Jersey and is less than 20 miles from Philadelphia.

All positions are contingent upon budget appropriations.
